Full Description:  
General FunctionsThis position is responsible as assigned for various activities as assigned within the Finance/Accounting Department including, but not limited to: general ledger reconciliations, procurement, accounts payable, cash receipts, bank reconciliations, payroll, and audit preparation for various companies.  May supervise on a limited basis. Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
  • Write up deposit tickets and prepare bank deposits for cash receipts received in main office
  • Enter cash receipts into Yardi for receipts that are received in the main office
  • Review and post cash receipts
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts
  • Create recurring journal entries and adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Review and post CCRs for tenant utility charges
  • Prepare monthly crosswalks for low rents and NSP
  • Create lead sheets for low rents and NSP balance sheet items for CIHA (GP)
  • Completes bank reconciliations
  • Creates bank transfers or check requests for cash management
  • Responsible for loan payments and journal entries
  • Update Property Management Fee schedule and create a check request
  • Respond to compliance audit requests
  • Update all balance sheet schedules
  • Assists in maintaining and updating financial procedures as needed
  • Assists with procurement for standard operating supplies and services and construction contracts, including obtaining quotes, requests for proposals or public bid as assigned
  • Performs data entry
  • Assists in month end and year end activities to insure accurate financial reporting
  • Assists in audit preparation for multiple companies
  • Prepares personal property tax returns
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
 Skills and Abilities
  • Experienced in all aspects of general bookkeeping
  • Self starter with ability to solve problems with minimal direction/supervision
  • Experience working with MS Office products with emphasis in Excel and Word
  • Experience working with automated accounting software packages
  • Experience working with property management and/or Yardi software
  • Ability to type 40 words a minute and to operate 10-key by touch
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills
 Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting, or closely related field or experience may be substituted for college on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and supervision
