Huna Totem Corporation is currently seeking enthusiastic internship applicants who are excited about supporting efforts to share the rich history and heritage of the Hoonah Tlingit from Glacier Bay with cruise ship guests and visitors to Glacier Bay Lodge. This part time (20 hours per week) position is based in Juneau and will work with existing Interpretive Services programs as well as those in development. This internship opportunity will provide the right candidate with a wide variety of responsibilities and experiences focused around Huna Totem Corporations’ Cultural Interpretation programs. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of tasks in support of the Huna Totem Corporation Cultural Interpretation program and Interpretive Services Director to develop and enhance the Interpretive Services program at Huna Totem Corporation (HTC). Intern will work under direct supervision by the Interpretive Services Director. DUTIES:·         Review and assist in the development of IS material (written, audio, and visual) for content.·         Assist in the day to day operations of cultural interpretive programs in Glacier Bay including creative program development, operations, purchasing, scheduling, pricing and customer service.·         Research history and culturally significant information in support of Glacier Bay programs designed to educate visitors on the Huna Tlingit and their rich history in Glacier Bay.·         Assist in video and photo editing in support of cultural tourism program development. ·         Coordinate schedules and activities with National Park Service, Glacier Bay Lodge, and Cruise Line Agency representatives. ·         Research & develop new interpretive materials and make changes to existing material using photographs, written material, audio recordings.·         Assist IS Director with marketing and public relations of cultural tourism programs.·         Coordinate with Cultural Interpreters in the field and be prepared to shadow alongside them.·         Be prepared to travel to Glacier Bay for one to several times to coordinate directly with program staff on the ground and on ships. ·         Assist with IS office duties as necessary (typing, filing, copying).·         Other duties as assigned. Qualifications required:·         Must have experience with computers and MS PowerPoint and Word (or willing to learn)·         Must be proficient in typing and word processing·         High School Diploma or equivalent.·         Must be personable, outgoing and comfortable speaking in front of people. ·         Must be able to work under supervision and as a team member.·         Must be creative, willing to learn new tasks, skills and computer software.·         Must be willing to travel and support team in Glacier Bay.·         Must have physical stamina to board cruise ships using a ladder.  Intern Applications may be printed from the Huna Totem Corporation website: www.hunatotem.com.  Applicants may reach Amber Starbard, Shareholder Relations Manager, with questions regarding the internship program. Complete applications may be sent to:
