UICCS, an Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) subsidiary, is looking for a talented individual to facilitate business growth and create brand awareness through proven marketing practices that are delivered in accordance with organizational strategy. Responsibilities include technical writing and design of proposals, brochures, project diagrams, statements of qualification, advertisements, news releases, newsletters and other marketing and public relations tasks including event management.  Secondarily, the incumbent will complete a variety of administrative tasks for the UICCS General Manager and Business Development Manager.  This will be up to 25% of the job. The successful applicant will assist with the research of business opportunities, coordinate all phases of the company’s proposal process, familiarize themselves with key industry players, utilize graphic design skills using the Adobe Creative Suite and/or InDesign, and represent the company at various industry events. The ability to meet deadlines, a commitment to teamwork, and detailed follow-through will be the key to success in this role. This is a highly interactive, hands-on position which will coordinate with all internal departments, including UIC Corporate Marketing staff. We recruit only qualified people looking to join a workforce characterized by strong leadership, competent and hard-working staff, a superior work environment with a focus on career development, and great wages and benefits.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The company’s growth and reputation is extremely dependent upon its communication, marketing and branding efforts, consequently the Marketing Specialist must possess and demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following: Assist with research of business opportunities including monitoring RFP/RFQ and RFI releases and other solicitation calls.The skill to independently define, schedule, and manage the proposal preparation process, including the ability to understand and analyze the details of an RFP is a must/required.Demonstration of the necessary personality and leadership skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of Engineers, Project Managers, Consultants and Subcontractors is required.Compile and condense information from a wide variety of technical professionals regarding qualifications and services into concise, accurate, and attractive products which result in winning work for UICCS companies.Create and develop marketing materials such as statements of qualification, advertisements, presentations, newsletters, brochures, tradeshow graphics, news releases and website content.  Ensure company branding is accurately and consistently reflected in all marketing collateral and communications.Perform graphic design using various software programs.Prepare materials for and attend industry tradeshows, client meetings and company sponsored promotions and events, as well as coordinate attendance and registration for other staff members.Work collaboratively as a team member to attain goals.Effectively communicate and make best use of interpersonal skills.Perform various administrative tasks as assigned by the General Manager and/or supervisor.Required Skills:  To perform this position effectively, the successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.Minimum bachelor degree in marketing, journalism, or related field.Minimum of five years of experience as professional in marketing, public relations or communications related position with demonstrated growth of responsibilities.Self-starter with demonstrated ability in technical writing and all phases of the proposal process.Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat).Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel).
